So....

I went to order my Sennheiser HD595's today (because as usual you cant just walk in store and buy them down here in DBN) and the salesman was quick to point out the clearance price he had on the Roland's.

Typical me I said OK I'll take em.

For a price of only R299.00 these are a revelation for me and IMO put the R700.00 Senn HD 465/485 to shame. I compared them to my HD202's seeing as they are in similar price ranges and the Roland's are faaaaar and away more comfortable. They are less bass heavy than the 202's which made listening to Katie Melua and similar atyles more enjoyable, open and airy (hauling out all the reviewer's superlatives here ;D)

For my rock, blues and metal I'll stick with the 202's (until my 595's arrive) but for pretty much anything else the Rolands are IMO more enjoyable.

For everyday listenening (no need for an amp here) give em a try ;)
