Starting this as a separate thread for those wanting to go Ubuntu/XBMC.
I'm sukkling a bit, hoping someone can help. Got the install done without too much trouble (see below for 1-2-3 step) using a USB flash drive, and the machine now boots into Ubuntu with XBMC as an app.
If I boot from the USB drive it fires up quickly and goes straight into XBMC... not sure why the full install doens't could jsut be a config thing. But it works fine.
If I boot from the new install on the hard drive and fire up XBMC it's dog slow - it takes literally minutes to move the mouse between options or to shut it down. Anyone have any ideas why?
