How to unban my laptop?
« on: May 07, 2022, 04:00:59 PM »
When I try to log in with my MacBook, AVForums tell me that I am banned and that this ban is not set to expire  :vsad:

This may have to do with the fact that I sometime use a VPN on the Mac. Could an administrator please unban my Mac?

Many thanks,
Ecki

Have you tried deleting the browser cache?

The VPN will be your problem. Clean the browser cache first as Chris mentioned above, if still a problem, send the IP address to me via PM and I will check to see if it is banned.

Thanks for the tip. I did remove the cookies and website data but not the browser cache data for AVForum.

Maybe a different message would be nice. It is a bit confusing.

I had that for the longest of time, laptop, phone, etc. Then one day  I was just able to log in again...

I thought I was banned because my activity on the forum was too low :faint:

This is usually caused by using VPNs, much loved and abused by spammers. And so the IP address gets banned. Clearing your browser cache is the first option, if still no joy then contact us or ask someone to do so on your behalf if unable to do so. But you also need to provide us with the problematic IP address so that we can check if it has been banned or not.
