My point exactly. Then why do so few systems have it? I've been utterly disappointed when I go to HiFi shops with the expectation to hear audiophile quality sound from their most expensive systems. Am I expecting too much? I'm starting to think that a lot of commercial outfits are just waiting to prey on unsuspecting newbies, baffling them with brand names and Wattage numbers. I mean, once a customer asks the give-away question; "how many Watts does this have", they know it's a potential sale. Newbies (majority of the public) don't know to ask about the sensitivity of speakers and decibels. It's only after they've been burnt (sometimes multiple times) - and read reviews and forums, that they realize what are the right questions to ask. This is not a rant about dealers, but I think dealers have a responsibility to educate the public - not take advantage of their ignorance. PS If I can give just one piece of advice to potential owners of HiFi gear, it would be to visit the forum diyAudio.com first. You'll find a wealth of information about HiFi systems there. Sadly, our local forums don't provide even a fraction of the information that can be gained there. Maybe were too obsessed with debating cables, sponsoring forums, etc? 😢
