[QUOTE="alanB, post: 48631, member: 431"] Couple of reasons: 1) I had another Adcom CD player previously (not the shuttle) which also, sounded good but also started giving the same hassles, spent quite a lot on trying to get it fixed, where most of the tray, laser, various switches etc were replaced, but the problem kept coming back, it would be OK for a few months and then it would start again and now its sitting in a box in my store room. I assume the same's going happen here, which is why I haven't bothered trying to get it repaired. 2) I use it as my secondary source (I have an EC EMC1 as my main source). I use the Adcom shuttle for background music while I'm working or entertaining etc. But I'm getting drawn to the idea of loading all my music on a server and having various playlists which I can just work through when I want general music. The digital music servers seem ideal for this. Also photography is one of my hobbies and it would be nice to have all my digital photo's available for viewing on my big screen in the lounge etc. By the sounds of it I should save up for a DAC Magic then?
