Sintered brass bearings dont actually require any other lubrication for the duration of there life. They rely on oil that is impreginated into the metal during manufacture. Thorens apparently shipped these "dry". that said as these turntable are now used looong after there warranty, it does make sense to add lubrication. What lubrication you use should depend on how worn the bearing is. If yours is in perfect condition use a thin synthetic. If it shows signs of wear try a thicker oil to dampen the noise. Try avoid oil with additives and other strange ingredients. As best I can tell the original oilt hat the bearing is impregnated with is a SAE 30. Im using a Shell Tellus hydraulic oil in my 160. Thats my choice as my bearing has seen some abuse in its past. If you are interested you may have some free. http://www.epc.shell.com/Docs/GPCDOC_GTDS_Tellus_TD_46.pdf
