Fully agreed. They seem like lovely people, just like my mother. I would however have the same issues, if not more, had she started a YT channel. My take on the review/interviews: - Too much talking heads. This is not how things are done on Youtube, and this is not a 1980's SAUK interview. Long static shots, long-winded monologues, too many empty and repeated sentences. Telling how full-bodied a speaker is is good. Saying it five times adds no extra value, just like pressing the elevator button five times won't make it arrive faster. - The uhms and you knows are well-addressed but I almost think doing it in Afrikaans and adding subtitles might work better. The uhms and you knows are filler material for finding the right words in a second language (same as the kids of today use the word 'like' as a substitute for uhm) and their discomfort is palpable. - It was subtle, but he cuts people off. They are talking and he would interrupt in a way that clearly shows he didn't even listen to the last sentence they said. I would find that offensive; I believe Larry King once said it's a tell-tale sign of a bad interviewer who has his own lines regardless of what the person being interviewed says. The interviewer of course sets the pace, but there are better ways of accomplishing it. - His technical knowledge, or at least the way he tries to portray it to the audience, is questionable. Either get technical or don't, but to ask whether a class-D amp switches outside the audio frequency band is absurd on so many levels, mostly because it fundamentally cannot work otherwise. He can just as well ask if it has to be powered on to work.
