Not too sure about all the fuss about looks, South African products tend to be either industrial or agricultural in look, I don't see this changing. It stems from an obsession with what is inside the box with a later thought about how to package it. It is very different from European attitudes towards design and how this is taught at tertiary education. My :2c: was that VA products were fine and elegant looking, but just needed a bit of refinement over the years. I felt things went backwards when the heavy curved front aluminum panels made an appearance. Now if you want add garish looking heatsinks then I need to have a dedicated room for my gear, since I no longer feel that it fits into a modern living room and can become a hazard. That aside I would like to see this specific VA sample make a cameo appearance in the next Avengers movie in Spiderman's living quarters. He surely would be super thrilled about that. With things being as they are for a truly local flavour, I am looking for an amplifier with a built-in backup inverter + battery and can seamlessly blend into the background or become invisible when an unauthorised intruder looks at it. Most South African products seems intent on the hernia route for revenge. Maybe a Kensington lock like standard collaboration could allow South African Hi-Fi owners to tether equipment so it can't be carried away?
