I believe either of the following options would probably give you the best performance via I2S using a Pi as the streamer ( USB out from PI to one of the below ): 1) Matrix SPDIF 2 ( https://www.matrix-digi.com/en/products/314.html : This DDC supports 32bit/768kHz PCM and 1bit/22.4MHz DSD ( DSD512 ). It can be configured to connect via I2S to almost any DAC that supports I2s. I own one and have personally used it between a Pi and a number of my DACS ( Rockna Wavelight, Rockna Wavedream, Audiobyte Hydra Vox and Mola Mola Tambaqui ). It uses 2 Accusilicon high-quality femtosecond clocks. It can be powered direct via the USB connection or you can choose to connect an external power supply. Works extremely well just powering it via the USB connection. 2) Singxer SU-6 ( https://shenzhenaudio.com/products/singxer-su-6-xmos-xu208-cpld-femtosecond-clock-usb-digital-interface ) Another excellent DDC for I2S output that can also be configured to support most DAC's with i2S. No need to upgrade the power supply on this as it uses a super capacitor to provide clean power. It uses CRYSTEK's CCHD-957 high-performance femtosecond crystal oscillator for clocking. Supports PCM 32bit /384khz and DSD512. Using either of the above connected to a Pi would in my opinion outperform anything mentioned in this post.
