As far as I have seen, most of us have rather varied musical tastes. I, for one, listen to anything from classical piano to the heaviest of metal and I'm always on the lookout for new music - new artists, new genres I've never experienced before. So I thought it would be nice to have a thread to share some more "esoteric" titles - hopefully to the benefit of everyone.

Let me kick off by presenting one of my favourite artists, LTJ Bukem[1] (click for some background).

While many sneer at any mention of electronic music, I think there is a lot of good stuff out there. LTJ Bukem plays a very interesting style of drum&bass, influenced by jazz, hip-hop, and who knows what else. It makes for some great background/chilling/studying music. I highly recommend "Journey Inwards" as a starting point (very airy ambient sound), though the rest are also excellent. The different albums vary A LOT from one to the next.
