I suppose it all boils down to economy of scale, large volumes, low prices... :gah: ?Compared to the States, I wonder were we sit in consumption levels. Average population in the States is around 440 million and we are exactly a tenth of that. Also remember, these are comparitavely cheaper over there if you compare average income as well. I think it would be fair to use a thumbsuck consumption figure of around 15:1? See where your scale goes now? I don't like it, but it's a fact of life. That's what you get for staying at the a$$ end of the earth... :icon_naughty: As Timber stated in the past, try and ship HEAVY stuff like speakers and then see what happens! I'm waiting for some SSOP adaptor boards from guys in the States and they rush me over $10 in shipping to get the stuff here! :gah: Funnily I got some samples from TI whithin 3 days, I wonder how much they spend with Fedex on shipping samples  ? ?An interesting twist is that my friend imports white pebbles from China for a third of the price of getting it here (he does landscaping), weird! Anyway, nuff said... Gert
