I’m currently in the process of claiming as I was hit about 3 weeks ago , I insisted that they find a qualified someone to asses all my audio stuff , some insurance companies use these small companies that repair appliances and not audio savvy and sometimes do more damage. I sent them a list of all the equipment I want assessed which was basically everything in that audio chain , they sent the Assesor’s through to my place and all equipment was assesed at my home they spent a few hours here , checked for surge protection etc. these guys actually showed me all the evidence to show what was blown on PCBs took pics I eventually lost AVR , projector and BD player … all HDMI boards blown. If they agree to settle just make sure the insurance offers you a like for like product or current replacement , in my case they offered to pay me for a 1080p PJ and not a 4K so just busy sorting that out before I sign pay out docs. Not fun but I look at the glass half full …. I get to buy new kit. Good luck bud
