Listening to music is all about how it makes us FEEL. There is zero objectivity in feelings, by their very nature they are 100% subjective. Confirmation bias. Subjective (because it's about music). Bought new (pricey for me) speaker cables from the Late Guillaume. Installed them. Played my favourite tracks. Made zero difference to my ears. But then my bias is I'm old, my hearing is fubar from clubs, cars & motorcycles. Yet my daughter, who was downstairs, and had not seen/did not know that I had changed cables, came upstairs and asked what new equipment I had purchased because she heard a difference. I then got a bunch of different interconnects from Guillaume. Despite my previous bias, I could now miraculously hear subtle differences between them. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: My daughter did not hear anything difference as magical as when I changed speaker cables. We all display bias - knowingly or not. We all seek to confirm this bias - knowingly or not. Sarel's post regarding cognitive dissonances simply confirms we are all human, and all fallible. Keep it subjective, listen to the music & ensure whatever genre and equipment you use makes you feel good. That is all any of us truly want in any case.
