I've been thinking about this topic lately as well. And though "audio snobbery" exist big time, I think a passion for good audio equipment, the passion to get my system to get to sound as good as it can get and just plain passion for HiFi is often wrongly labelled as snobbery. Why is it OK to show off a Ferrari by the guy for a passion for cars, but the moment someone shows off his R500 000.00 Hi-Fi you get labelled as an audio snob? Or are we sometimes just jelous of what someone els has got? Oh, there are people that are just music lovers, but then there are people that are music lovers but also has a passion for the equipment reproducing them. I fall in the second category :) ps: For those who don't know, I don't even have a complete system atm.
