    Anyone know Genesis Acoustics

Damn Drifter, those look amazing. Last time I was there you had the smaller model. Massive change or incremental improvement?

What do you wish you knew when you started this journey?

If you're buying H/T gear, and unless you honestly cannot live without the latest and greatest, just by secondhand gear. The loss over 12 months is staggering.... Buy the right speaker for your room, not the speaker that gives you a chubby....

    Tidal Hi Res

Well the million dollar question is, what is your feeling / experience? You got in, in time, the rest of us have to wait until August unfortunately.

    Tidal Hi Res

Just wondering if anyone here managed to get onto the Tidal Early Access program, with access to the high res portfolio? I was slow to pull the trigger and interested to see if anyone has a “beta” review for use.

    Testing ChatGPT

Honestly- IBM haven’t manage to turn that business around in 20 years (despite some very smart people), this won’t do it.

Help needed from the networking and gaming gurus!

It's weird, I know, but have you tried using a patch lead instead of WiFi? I know it sounds ridiculous, but it has solved one or two Xbox online services issues.

Help me start a 5kw hybrid system

Check out this thread, I've been in a simalar predicament. There were some answers about not using cheaper inverters https://www.avforums.co.za/threads/embarking-on-solar-stuffs.103372/

    Testing ChatGPT

Absolutely, don't treat like a search engine. Give it information and have a "conversation" with it, you'll soon see the benefits. Treat it like any public domain technology service, so take care of any private or confidential information that you wouldn't like to see abused or in the public...

Backup *water* system do's and dont's

Hope you have batteries and an inverter to drive those pumps.... ;)

Is this the end of MQA?

While a Tidal user (along with Roon) I have little or no interest in MQA, to be honest the concept of "Hi-Res" FLAC is far more attractive. Assuming it isn't some kind of up sampled silliness....

    A/V receiver or Speaker Upgrade

Can anyone spot the commercial member that supports NAD? :ROFLMAO:

    Mounting tv above fireplace

Agree with a few others here, mounting a TV above a fireplace is a quite a way from a good viewing angle.

Apple TV+ app on android box - no surround sound option?

Apple hasn't supported an optical out in their own devices for 5 or 10 years, so it might well not support it and wants to default to HDMI.

I just learnt the secret to unlocking my dacs performance

It's amazing what an aging laptop can actually do with an SSD and enough RAM. In fact I run my Roon Core on a 10-year-old i7 HP all in one, with 12 GB of RAM and a couple of SSD's. Works like a bomb.

Just as I thought Tap-To-Pay was safe - beware

Interesting to hear that, I've yet to find someone who doesn't take it. Been using it for about a year. If you can tap, you should be able to use your smartphone.

Just as I thought Tap-To-Pay was safe - beware

Another good reason to use your smartphone

Just as I thought Tap-To-Pay was safe - beware

I’ve found NFC payment via a mobile is far more reliable than with a bank card. Incidentally, it is notably more secure. I use Apple Pay, but most mobile device manufacturers/OS providers have something similar.
