    That's a shame :( , they're great subs.

Thanks, those are Peerless 830500 XLS in approx 50l sealed enclosures. Based on the Thor subwoofer by Linkwitz. I don't crank the volume much so the boxes just rely on thick laminated side panels for bracing (38mm).

Howdy, thought I'd post a photo of my ZRT's as proof that projects can be completed, even if they're many years behind schedule ;D I started this "vanilla" version in Jan 2018 and completed it by June the same year. This was originally planned to be a curvy version that stalled when I found...

    Shaun's Translam HT

+1 for this recommendation; did the same for my ZRT project that had been languishing for 7 years. Built a pair of sturdy regular enclosures in 6 months (still lots of time constraints) and have been happy with them ever since.

    ZRT Curve project

Howzit Henry! I'm still alive ;D The project? Not so much alive as undead. I'm planning on using a straightforward cabinet design to finish the build, suitably childproofed I might add as my wife and I are expecting ;) Nothing fancy in the looks department, more pragmatic DIY. My current...

    New B&W P5

I received a pair for my birthday earlier this year, loving them to bits. Bought from Dion Wired for R1500 Incl. but checking their site today they don't seem to be listed any longer (they were before)

    Attie's Revelator Build

Yup, small or "open plan" listening spaces are a real drag. It takes a lot of trial and error to get it sounding good even with all the theory acting as a guide. Room treatments can help as long as they comply with "SWAMBO" standards and can also be fun projects in their own right (I see from...

    Media player advice

You may also consider a media player from Western Digital. I have one of their earlier models, a WD TV Live using the optical output for audio. It sounds good to my ears and so far has played back everything I've thrown at it. Firmware updates are still being released on a regular basis so it is...

    ZRT Curve project

Hi guys, apologies for the long overdue response; I haven't been checking in as often as I should and only saw your questions now (I haven't been receiving notifications either :-[ ). I'm embarrassed to admit that this build has stalled somewhat. My workshop is still as I left it, albeit with a...

Man, I'm woefully behind with the news! Your Revelator build looks fantastic Gert! 8)

    Jimmy's "Clone" of a TQWT

The waveguide certainly does qualify as fine speaker-porn! ;D

    Tembo Trunks

Here's novel idea for portable music player owners: Tembo Trunks http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/tembotrunks/tembo-trunks-earbud-speakers Collapsible silicon horns for your earbud speakers ;)

    ZRT Curve project

That was indeed quite close ;) It's interesting to see how much difference a few millimeters make, but not that much fun trying to find that elusive number (looks suspiciously related to the "Answer to the Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything")

    ZRT Curve project

Thanks Ruan! :) I do look forward to the enclosures finally being completed and the Scans singing away 8)

    ZRT Curve project

Quick update: I think I've finally cracked the clamp radius problem :D Top left of the image, you can see where the groove wall sheared away due to the ill fit of an earlier test. Now with the properly fitting panel, no shear forces exist and the "broken" wall remains intact (don't worry, I...

    Sean's ZRT Build

Looking real fine Sean, great job so far 8) Tell me about it...it's been months since I bought the Scans and I'm still goofing around with clamps :-[
