Arcam SA30 music streamer any good?

Stereosane I have not, but I have no experience with any streamer, this is a first for me. I am down sizing my life and trying to have just a stream driving 2 big speakers. I will not be running the streamer through an amp, so the streamer needs to normal speaker outputs and enough power to...

Arcam SA30 music streamer any good?

I am thinking of buying an Arcam SA30 music streamer and was hoping to hear from anyone who has experience of this streamer. I will play it through two B&W nautilus 803 floor standing speakers. I plan to use Tidal as my streaming music source. It is pricey so I would like to know it is worth...

    So, who uses subtitles?

It may also be that minion has a little hearing loss in that range. Hearing loss is usually specific to certain frequencies, depending on age or the frequency of sound that caused the hearing loss. Myself I can hear the background effects perfectly but can hardly hear the dialog because that is...

    So, who uses subtitles?

Subtitles all the way, whenever possible. My wife has excellent hearing, so she can watch with TV sound on level 20 or 30% of max. I however can only hear speech clearly when it reaches about 70% which is to loud for her. Also, love the foreign series. They tell a story very differently which...

Can anyone identify weird window bubbles?

Thanks guys. I never realized the glass is laminated...makes sense. It is expensive to replace, and it is in Aluminum frames which I do not have any experience replacing glass in. I wonder if their is anyone near Pinetown for such a job?

    How loud do you listen?

When using in-ear buds, the sound in the very confined space of your ear cannels is much more focused and has a lot more power, so it is easier to damage the delicate hairs, the same ones that wear out and never grow back / recover once damaged! Over-ear headphones is not as focused and hence a...

What is the optimal solar setup? Including geyser! “Dream team” equipment

santoshlv426 your usage is low! It usually takes about 8 to 10 years to recover your outlay in money, but the satisfaction of never been with out electricity due to loadshedding or breakdowns is instant! It has been such a pleasure. Just one less SA stress to have to complain about. It is also...

    How loud do you listen?

I wish someone had told me the facts about hearing loss when I was young. I had no idea that you suffer permanent hearing loss every time you are exposed to loud sound. Noise above 70 dB over a prolonged period of time may start to damage your hearing. Loud noise above 120 dB can cause...

What is your experience of using a wind turbine to supplement a Solar system?

@ MSAllen Thanks for sharing your experience. I was thinking of just a small windmill on my chimney. Does not have to generate massive power, 500 to 1000W would be fine. But it must be quiet, so those yacht types are out of the question.
