I ran my Thorens TD125 through a Yamaha R-S700 amp, amp has a decent phonostage but I agree with the frustration of varying recordings. I then added a Sansui SE7 eq to the setup, fantastic results. I can now dial it in to exactly what pleases my ears. Equalizers are generally frowned upon but...

I recently added a Sansui SE-7 EQ to my Yamaha stereo setup, match made in heaven for my ears. It's been a huge help for room correction and it's given me more control when listening to my vinyls. That AU-111 is indeed beautiful Eric, I'll clarify which model tube he's has.

Hi Folks I recently borrowed my brother's spare AU7700 as an interim amp until my Yamaha arrived. Up until then I haven't seen nor heard one before and I must admit that this is a beast of an amp at just 54 watts. It really did put my Klipsch R28f through it's paces with it's massive soundstage...

That might be a great idea cos the 106 pre has XLR outputs as well. I just need RCA connectors on the other side.
