    Thanks for info. The player is super clean and white grease looks very fresh. The problem is the Laser Disc won't start to rotate until I slap the bottom of player. (CD works fine) Something might be stuck, but if I take this apart myself it might never work again.

    Thanks fdlsys I'll give the current repairer a chance to try fix this mess before I name them, but if they don't sort it out... I might go buy a soldering iron and watch a few youtube vids and remove it from the PCB myself. I'm about as comfortable doing that as performing open-heart surgery...
