The amp in question is a Denon X540BT. The media PC will need a new graphics card to decode 4k content. It will be connected with an HDMI cable. The amp has 4k HDMI pass through, its the audio through the hdmi cable good enough? Will the amp be able to provide 5.1 from that?

That is definitely a must! For the meantime, I have resorted to keeping a roll of paper towels in my desk drawer. So I can wipe the headsets occasionally, so far it is working out well... it also helps having the towels on hand for other desk activities.
