Thanks Gents, agree fully, at the price the Psx goes for genrally, not really worthwhile to upgrade (price wise), rather get a better DAC. The main reason I was asking is, every now and again, the Psxr comes up for a relatively good price. Im not too keen on a new DAC just yet, Quiet happy with...

ok.....tried the fixed output via RCA as suggested, but prefer the sound via the XLR (I think, may be all in my head?!) I'm not really too keen to unsolder....seems a bit risky. so put the XLR's back, covered the IR with a small piece of tape & I think that's all I can do for now. Again...

Thanks FranZAR, but the fixed output is unfortunately not going to work, I am using the pre-amp section of the DAC, XLR cables out the DAC/Preamp into the Camebridge (basically using as a power amp). Guess ill have to put a piece of foil over the IR eye for now. Thanks for the advise!
