    Vacuum cleaner recommendations

Miele C3 is excellent. It is one of those things that is just well thought out and well engineered in every sense. I wish other companies would take such care. That being said, we also have a Roomba with the self emptying base. Automated vaccuming cannot be beaten. I put the Roomba on the same...

    Subwoofer is dead

Haha, I guess I should've hit it with a heatgun before the assessor picked it up as a form of "insurance from my insurance".

    Subwoofer is dead

This was the feedback I fought with Hollard but they wouldn't budge. They told me to go to the ombudsman if I wanted to escalate it so I gave up.

    Subwoofer is dead

Thanks for the feedback, I will give Bobby a call and try ship it to him. I have the box still. If I don't come right then I will try the agent.

    Subwoofer is dead

Hi guys, I have a Linn Sizmik 10" subwoofer that does not power on. I think load shedding killed it so I tried to claim from insurance. The assessment came back that it died due to "wear and tear" and not from load shedding cos the PSU is fine. Does anyone now if this kind of thing can be...

Klipsch RP1200SW vs DN12 vs THX…who will win?

The sub market is heating up! Lots of great competition at the moment. SVS is gonna have to respond soon.

Quick Question, is it a bad idea to run two different subs?

I thought ?speed? related to how fast a driver can start/stop. Big drivers have more mass and therefore react slower. Servo subs like Rythmik are supposed to fix this by using the motor to stop unwanted driver movement by having a feedback loop from the driver to the amp.

    The Observer Effect and Measurements

A digital encoding can be perfectly replicated from source -> destination thanks to error checking. It is only once it goes analog that cables matter. So only after your DAC.

    HDMI 2.1 is a failure ....

Pretty sad about this. I recently bought an x2700h in anticipation for PS5. I?m currently looking at a Samsung Q80T or Sony XH90 to go with it but now what?s the point? Do we have any recourse here? Official reply Denon is sending to everyone: Some new gaming source devices that support...

15m HDMI 2.0 cable with small connectors

Thought I should close the loop on this. The 20m Baobab fiber HDMI cable fits with a little bit of space to spare and carries a 4K 60hz Dolby Vision signal perfectly.

    LG 65? 7100 IPS Issues

It depends. The Q series should be a VA panel which in general has a higher contrast than an IPS panel. The viewing angles will suffer though.

15m HDMI 2.0 cable with small connectors

I?ve scoured the internet and these are the best options I can find in SA. 1. https://www.audicoonline.co.za/DTech-Hdmi_2-Over-Fibre Expensive but it will work 2. https://m.takealot.com/baobab-hdmi-2-0-fibre-cable-20m/PLID53638941 Cheaper but could be a tight squeeze.

15m HDMI 2.0 cable with small connectors

I did look into those but the 4K ones (HDBaseT) are expensive!

15m HDMI 2.0 cable with small connectors

I need to connect my AVR to my TV with a 15m cable but unfortunately it has to go through 20mm conduit (I know ). Does anyone know where I can get a long HDMI 2.0 (18gbps) cable with slim connectors? I currently have an HDMI 1.4 cable with slim connectors in there but it can?t do 4K...

    Do crossover components matter?

Agreed, I went is suspecting I wouldn?t here anything because of YouTube. I was surprised when I did which is why I?m interested in others opinions.

    Do crossover components matter?

Very interesting video where Danny Ritchie of GR Research matches the crossover network of some Behringer speakers but using better components https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmsMGILAYvk You can hear the A/B test of speakers recorded through a decent mic here...
