Thanks this is a good idea - I have an iPhone XS Max which apparently has eSIM capability, so I can put an MTN number in with that and switch back to my vodacom sim as needed and test it that way. I'm a bit dense so never knew this was an option. Thanks guys

Ok update on this mission. I decided to keep the AE's and spend the cash on a dedicated guitar amp and studio headphones instead since it gives me much more versatility for the same bucks
