The New Axpert Inverters (SOL-I-AX-5M4) - Is anyone aware of any issues with these units.

No Fuses. He does not have any PV connected. The output side just goes directly to a plug point and not through a second DB.

The New Axpert Inverters (SOL-I-AX-5M4) - Is anyone aware of any issues with these units.

He has the input breaker on the DB board. The output breaker is on the unit. I have suggested that he fit an input fuse as I assume the input breaker on the board may not operate if the current is moving in the wrong direction through it.

The New Axpert Inverters (SOL-I-AX-5M4) - Is anyone aware of any issues with these units.

A friend of mine purchased a Mecer (SOL-I-AX-5M4) inverter in November and had it installed. This is the new Axpert inverter range with the large color changing light depending what mode it is in. It is not a grid-tie inverter. Within 2 weeks after installation it caught alight a few minutes...

Is anybody else having problems with their DSTV Explora Model 2A?

The Explora Ultra is very overpriced @R2299 and also very limited. If you do cancel your DSTV subscription your over priced ULTRA decoder will no longer run apps like Netflix. It also cannot run items off a memory stick/external Drive via the USB ports.  I have just bought a new Explora 3A...

The problem is the live sport. What are the options for getting around that these days?

Is anybody else having problems with their DSTV Explora Model 2A?

Yesterday I noticed one of our Explora decoders was not working. It was just showing a DSTV logo on the TV and on the front panel was displaying "loAd". I took the unit into the Multichoice customer service center in Randburg this morning and they tried to reset it twice but it failed to reset/...

JBL OnBeat Xtreme - Speaker Repair

I did manage to find out that the agents for JBL Home products is Connoisseur Electronics. They referred me to Eurovision for the speaker repair as new units are no longer available.

JBL OnBeat Xtreme - Speaker Repair

I am assisting a friend to get a JBL OnBeat Xtreme repaired. The right woofer is distorting and after removing the speaker it seems the cone has partially torn away from the foam surround. The speaker is about three inches in diameter. What is the normal process with these speakers, i.e. repair...

    Netflix vs dstv

I am just wondering what DSTV subscribers reaction is going to be when you get that letter advising on the latest price increase and justifying it by throwing in the Rand /$ exchange rate. I suspect it will be the last straw for many :sh1tstirrer:

The agents must be crazy, part 2

From what I have read on this forum and some other sites this HDMI issue is the reason I would not buy an Onkyo receiver. They should have had a recall and sorted out the problem and not expected their customers to pay exorbitant costs to fix their problems. For me it is simple: Who buys Onkyo...

The agents must be crazy, part 2

Hi Josh, Firstly, well done! How did you know that it was that chip or is it obvious that it is the HDMI drive? What did the replacement chip cost?

    DIY Subwoofer

I tend to think that a Sub build is all about the driver and the box design and would rather concentrate my efforts there. When it comes to the amp I would rather just get hold of a plate amp that its setup for the sub application (Auto "ON" detection, 180 degree phase shift, filter and gain and...

Cutting through the BS for alternative power

I am trying to understand the incoming AC side of the inverter. I assume the connection of the inverter to the mains takes place before the existing earth leakage unit, from there you go into an isolator followed by a trip switch for the inverter and then to the inverter AC in. The output of the...
