How to connect a DLINK NAS and a Samsung TV

My router is wired to the PC and the DLink NAS.  The TV is wireless and I have confirmed that there is data getting through as there is now a bar scrolling across the bottom of the screen with very current world events on it.  I am not sure what DLNA is.  There is a program on the PC side...

How to connect a DLINK NAS and a Samsung TV

I have recently bought a second had DLINK NAS (Dlink NDS 323) and I have a Samsung plasma TV that I would like to play movies on. In between sits my PC and the wireless router/router.  The TV successfully talks to the wireless router but the PC does not see the TV and the TV does not see the...

Rotel RC-972 Drop In replacements for existing opamps

They all look like they have the standard dual op amp pin out.  I assume they all are used in different stages of the amp.  What you could do just to try is to try some fancy /  expensive op amps in your board.  You would need to remove the said parts and put some high quality sockets in their...

Ruuning a car amplifier off mains power?

A PC power supply will be able to deliver a lot of current on the 12V rail.  PC power supplies are plentiful and for under R1000 you should find one that will deliver the power you need. Below are some specs for a Thermaltake 500W litepower DC OUTPUT              +3.3V +5V +12V -12V...

    DIY Audio Showcase 2013 Gauteng

Hi, Thanks to all the organisers and display people for their efforts. I think the day was most enjoyable and the level of quality in the speakers and amps that were on display is astounding.  I did not hear a combination that did not fail to impress. Well done!

Building amps with Intuition. A long story.

That makes VERY interesting and entertaining reading Ludo.  You should consider doing it more often. What I am still getting from reading on this forum is that there are a bunch of guys out there that really know what they are talking about! Keep it coming Ludo!!!

GECO AUDIO - kidNAP (naim/avondale derivative)

You say not intended for HE speakers.  Would not be a matter of lowering the damping factor for HE speakers.  I am sure this is possible by tuning the feedback and output impedance of the amp.  This is actually quite an interesting subject when you start to look.  Nelson Pass speaks about it...

Kidnap vs F5 vs Manley Stingray

Hi, This is a really nice thread. I have also a Kidnap from Heinrich!  But it has only made some sounds so far, nothing really serious.  This is whetting the appetite a bit. cheers

Olson-Nagaoka Kongo double mouth horn for Fostex fe126en

It is great that you are taking pictures from the beginning so that we can see your progress.  It does encourage the rest of us to get up from the keyboard and do some woodwork! Keep up the progress.

    My high-end project...

Why do you not have the cross over made locally?  I know that Jim Gore can make inductors and he can measure to confirm he has the value required.  Capacitors are available, you must just ask for the right di-electric.  And resistors should be the easy parts to find. There are even guys that...

    Floorstander design for a friend

Well done Ian! I can see that your creative juices are flowing.  As a non serious type of question, do you have an idea as to what the box is going to look like before you start, or does is sort of evolve as you are going? That is some fine work.

My new two way speaker build

Here is an update. Heinrich was kind enough to populate my PCBs and test them as he wanted to verify that his kit of parts that he was posting to Cape Town was correct. Here are the pieces.  The amp is a GECO KidNap. As it is obligatory to build a planky, I set about converting part of a sub...

    My high-end project...

Hi, I am very pleased you have made a decision to build.  Could you give us an idea of what the speaker may look like. Cheers

    In-ceiling Infinite Baffle

Jim Gore build one of these into his ceiling and used a vent not unlike yours to vent into the room.  Look back for this on the forum.  He later build another sub that replaced it.  This subject makes very interesting reading. Happy hunting.

    Yet another CNC project

Well done Gert!  That was a fantastic amount of effort to get to the point of writing with a pencil.  So the first major roadblock is out of the was, in that it really works.  I am sure that the success will come in shovel loads soon. Good luck.

Build your own attenuator & channel selector

I may be interrested in building one of these as well.  I have one of the Arduino boards and it is quite straight forward to use. Do you have an estimated cost of the project, say excluding the housing and with? cheers, Wade

    Rain water tank install

I would like to put a 1000 liter water collection tank next to my house to catch some rain water.  I would like to make this a DIY project as I feel that I am capable of laying a small cement slab for the tank to stand on and the pipe work from the gutter should not be too difficult. Now I do...

Dual 10" Folded horn Sub build

I think a grill will be essential.  You want to make it look like a large mass, not like a speaker.  Also people, especially young people like to post stuff into open holes.  (I speak from experience here.) Nice going on the build.  How are you going to finish it? As goes material suppliers...
