So who are the fishing experts here?

You don't mention whether the line breaks,  so I'm assuming that they are pulling the hook, which is not easy to do. Massive carp are caught world wide with very small hooks. Based on this, I am guessing that you use heavy line and have your reel's clutch set way too tight. The only giudeline...

    Padestrians se MOer!

Mmm, the pages I'm paging through are imaginary, and I never really text and drive, I thought that was obvious - I keep an eye on what the pedestrian does out of the corner of my eye, and I have yet to get one who doesn't get out of the way very quickly.

    Padestrians se MOer!

You have nothing to lose, try this trick I learnt from my dad just once in your life: You see stubborn pedestrian, but, instead of eye-contact or reaction, you try your best to look preoccupied and start looking through imaginary papers on your passenger seat, or perhaps start "texting someone"...

Youtube!! Links to WORST songs/music videos...

You made my day with that one! I just clicked on a random bad video link, and behold! It is that rare epic combination of earnestness and sucking that comes along but once a year. Thank you Telephono. My personal long-time favourite: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fwQyo3agWak (edited to...

    Successfully flattening rough planks

It is freaky how similar your sled looks to mine! And I just used the scrap I had on hand after I figured out the principle behind the thing. I had to level a few planks that a friend rough cut with a chainsaw. It works really well.

Fade into you - cover by Indiana

Good song, very well performed. Love the recording too - sounds great.

Audio nirvana need not cost a fortune

Thank you, but I see this guy did a pretty good job already.  :-[ http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/multi-way/233611-crossover-suggestions.html

Audio nirvana need not cost a fortune

I have a pair of those woofers(I think they are identical anyway) with a silk dome tweeter on 1st order crossovers in a small bookshelf enclosure, and they sound amazing to me - much better than they have any right to.  Natural, easy and open sound with great imaging. :O0: Do you have any idea...

I have had it with media players!!! HTPC better choice??

I should have added that I've never warmed to surround sound, and the 3.1 I'm using at the moment is probably going back to 2.1 soon. I know that is very unusual, and that is why I should have added that detail. VGA is (and has been for years as you obviously know  ;D ) perfectly capable of HD...

I have had it with media players!!! HTPC better choice??

I'm very happy using an older model laptop running XBMC/Kodi with my TV as a second monitor. I really like using the Yatze remote on my phone and the Note 10.1, and the library manager works really well. My XBMC is actually running as a normal software program in Windows Vista Home, so I can...

The common housefly - up close and personal

This blows my mind! Well done Mervin. I don't want to look, but I can't seem to help myself.  :giggle: Even more disgusting up close, who'd have thunk it? I have a spare 18-55mm, I'd love to try it when I find some time.

    Why Datsun?

I'm slightly aroused actually.  :-[ Most modern cars are exactly on par with fridge/freezers in the personality department.

    OB's WTF

Very natural, effortless sound. The Tsuyoshi Yamamoto I listened to there sounded so transparent and real.  :O0: These speakers are also a great example of how you shouldn't generalise - OB's don't have much bass? Yeah right.

    Your favourite movie soundtrack

+1 to Pulp Fiction and Gladiator. Dead Man Walking is possibly my favourite one, and a close second is Master and Commander. Don't laugh but Kung Fu Panda is also right up there for me.

    Dog Advice

:BWAHAHAH: Especially a fat pug. Seriously, my youngest's favourite thing to do as a baby was to grab a lip in each hand and pull - like an exercise machine, and the pug's only reaction was a look of deep gratitude for the attention.

    Dog Advice

I doubt a pug has ever killed anything, ever. We have a black male pug and he is the most patient, lovable and non-destructive dog I've ever known. I protect him from the kids, not the other way around.

To screw or not? ... building speaker cabs

+1 for the black chipboard screws for strength and price, and also an added plus for me is that they seem to fit the driver bits very well. I prefer to just glue and clamp with mdf because it splits so easily and is a hassle to fill - bodyfiller works, but I don't like working with it. I have...

    Oscars bawling

I think "Someone is going to write a book for him" is probably more accurate. I've got the sneaking suspicion he isn't one for "all them book learnin' stuff". +1 As much as that sucks, that is the way it works unfortunately. Weird that his dog is still alive to bark about it, because if OP...

    Oscars bawling

It is a little more complicated than it seems at first. I understood that she meant subjectively he did not foresee that shooting through the door would kill anyone. In other words, however mistaken, idiotic or reckless, he says that he didn't (and the state are going on his version because...

I am in the mood for another epic speaker build

Almost a shame to cover that up! Looking good!  :2thumbs:
