Was just looking at this thread...I've only had Yamaha AV amps, recently shifted to Yamaha CX-A5100 processor, and there are nuances and subtleties that the processor extracts vs the amp I had, admittedly I went from the 3067 which was the flagship around 5 years or so ago.....

get a R2k refund , keep it as is and use as a processor, i dont sse this needing a DSP board, but the amplifier stage seems to be at issue, could even be a minor fault, and you are now being told its the DSP board....it wont work as a pre- amp if the DSP board is fooked.... :)

Im running an AV processor...yamaha CXA5100...very flexible in setup, have always run yamaha AVr's, first time going the pre pro route....

he could also go 7.2.4...Im running that configuration currently and its better :tongue:....depends on budget and preference, but 4 overhead speakers does seem more immersive...also very dependent on how well the system is calibrated and also on the individual soundtrack...

the Oppo 203 is a great product....if you have one then speak....guys speculate and advise on things not in their possession...many products launch that continually evolve with updates and firmware updates, video game software, AVR's, video game hardware etc...I personally have had zero issues...

I agree, it should be the 3060, like for like....depends what the T's & C'a in your policy are

I picked up the Logitech G920, awesome wheel with brilliant quality, local options are wheels from Thrustmaster, expect to pay a premium on both brands, Thrustmaster has had quality issues, hence me opting for the Logitech option....

Transformers: Age of extinction , brilliant Dolby Atmos Soundtrack, Mad Max, Jason Bourne:DTS X, Mission Impossible:Rogue nation and also Batman VS Superman....all sound brilliant, Atmos and DTS X definitely add another dimension....

I have a couple of Smart TV's, and they work ok, but also Apple TV units in two locations, works perfectly to stream music off my iphone, and that suffices for my needs, pretty much only use the smart function for you tube, but been meaning to try Showmax as well
