I must say that I find that hard to believe when done on a high resolution system. I have certaily detected quite big differences in the past when I have had the rare opportunity to compare.

Maybe I am wrong but I would not expect outputs from dacs to vary wildly [except maybe with aes/ebu - I am not sure]. The volume level on the preamp would obviously remain the same unless there is a big discrepency in the aforementioned. The idea is to do direct comparisons , so only one or two...

Thanks for the replies. I am aware of Resonant Frequency and I may go there but I wonder if there is anybody else around , even upcountry who has the meticulous finesse that might be required for an audiophile driver to be brought back to as good as new. For all I know , it might be an easy fix...
