    Washing machine brands

Very happy with Bosch - all our appliances have been replaced by Bosch ones over the past 5/6 years - no complaints.

    Marantz PM7005 Repairs/Thoughts

Thanks for the idea, but things have changed since the original post - Ematic is gone, "smart" Samsung has arrived. Being a Samsung - no Chromecast, instead Samsung "Smartdevices" app whereby I can send audio to TV, but over Bluetooth, so guessing quality suffers. Still googling and playing...

    Marantz PM7005 Repairs/Thoughts

Just an update to close the thread. Big shout out to Roland (Rovanaudio) - fixed the irritating Input Selection Dial issue - and very reasonably priced! The fix to the USB input was too expensive, so will be looking for a Wiim mini - will do a new thread for that. Thanks @RRankin for putting...

Thanks - I'll chat to Roland to get an idea of repair costs and then give you a shout.

    Marantz PM7005 Repairs/Thoughts

Thanks for the reply - if you could dm me Roland's details I'll give him a shout. Also thanks for the Wiim Mini feedback - I'm guessing you're using both and not offering to sell one of them? 😁

    Marantz PM7005 Repairs/Thoughts

Cheers - thanks for the input (excuse the pun!). My concern was also about chucking ronds at the Marantz instead of maybe "modernising" the system a bit. Will carry on digging!

    Marantz PM7005 Repairs/Thoughts

Afternoon All, The USB input on the Marantz has been deceased for a few years now but hasn't been an issue as I've only been using the coax & optical inputs. I currently stream Tidal via an Ematic Android TV box but want to start streaming it via tablet/phone and the USB input - hence the...

Volswager 1,4 TSi engine - any issues?

I have zero mechanical competence (understatement), but often watch Buyers Guide on Ignition TV. Presenters are 2 older guys that have their own workshops - they are wary of the DSG gearboxes and say it's more a case of when than if they will need some expensive repairs. So as previous posters...

    Speaker recommendations

I replaced my 20 yr old DM603's with Monitor Audio Bronze 100's - so far quite happy. Just not sure how much smaller you wanted to go - they're shorter but deeper than the 110's.

    Return To Bookshelfs

Thanks all for your inputs - just what I wanted - some good ideas & debates! The MA's will arrive today so the proof of the pudding will be in the eating.... @Drifter - the 603's are the 20 year old ones and I will be selling them - not sure what they're worth? The real estate is not the real...

    Return To Bookshelfs

Thanks @WhoIsJOB & @xumbug. Will give the MA's a whirl - haven't actually spent time listening to music for a few decades - the Marantz & B&Ws were roped in to help our old ears with TV/Movies, and then the odd opskop. Having downsized, the room is actually better suited to listening to music...

    Return To Bookshelfs

Thanks for the info @Stereosane - great to know about local products - would definitely have gone and listened to them but unfortunately pulled the trigger on a pair of MA Bronze 100 last night that were on special (R5790). A bit nervous as I haven't listened to them but figured at the price...

    Return To Bookshelfs

Evening All, My first foray into proper hi-fi was in 1990 - returned from the UK with a NAD 3020, Rotel CD, Monitor Audio Bookshelfs, Linn Sondek turntable. Very much a part time audio pleb so after a couple of changes ended up with a Marantz PM7005, B&W 603s2, same Rotel CD player (30 years...

    Introductions Thread

Evening All, Technically a new member but actually joined in 2014 as a lurker - gleaned some expert info before pulling the trigger on a Marantz PM7005! So thanks for the help back then!! I'm now looking to replace my B&W 603s2 so will do a post in the proper forum. Cheers Tom
