A few members here are proud owners of the P20 and I thought we should start a thread to let the rest know of this gem.
As the title says, the LOXJIE P20 is a fully balanced, tube hybrid, headphone amplifier for under $100. And not just that, it measures extremely well. Have a look at over on...
I brought one of the M50xBT with Brainwavz angled sheepskin pads back for a friend in December. I think it's an awesome setup. Easily on the same level as the QC35/MDR-1000X with even more comfort and over $100 cheaper.
As I see it there are 2 types of portable amps.
With a battery.
Pros:
- Doesn't drain your phone's battery as much
- More power
- Some could be used as a battery bank
Cons:
- Another battery to remember to charge
- Larger + heavier
- If the battery eventually dies you probably have...
At first, I was confused with what you meant by 150/750 Ohms. Turns out the impedance changes when you enable ANC.
Seeing as the PXC450 has a fairly high sensitivity of 108 dB SPL/mW, you can reach about 110dB with a dragonfly black (1.2V) with the ANC on (750 Ohm).
See this useful calculator...
Not sure where but I know it's popular in cheaper custom car audio setups. If you have a local shop that does aftermarket car audio they will most probably have one.
It's called the Arc. $250 for O2 + ODAC level of performance with a mic jack. Or you could get a Blue snowball ice for $50.

It's called a ground loop. You can Google it and read up the details. Basically, it's because your mic and headphones share the same ground but that ground comes from 2 different sources. Here are your options:
1. Plug both your mic and headphone into the same device. Think mayflower...
Everything on Tidal is 50% off in SA.

The real deal is that on top of that you get an additional 50% off (essentially making it -75%) for family members. So for each additional member its:
Tidal HiFi = $5
Tidal Premium = $2.5
I'm currently sharing with my...
Speaking of entry-level equipment, Schiit just announced the new Magni 3 amp. Very impressive specs for the price. 2W per channel RMS @32 Ohms is over 3 times what the O2 offers.

Nice post by Jason from Schiit...
At first, I thought, WHAT A RIPOFF! But then I realised its Aussie dollars. That's ~$59 00 real money. Bargain :BWAHAHAH:
Anyway posting here to let you know you can have a listen to the setup at Mitech in Midrand. You can read more here: https://www.avforums.co.za/index.php/topic,62186.0.html
There is a big misunderstanding under normal consumers on noise canceling. What they 99% of the time meant was closed back. Active noise cancellation like in Bose QC only really helps with a constant background hum sound like on an aeroplane. So unless you fly a lot, a decent closed back is the...
