I cannot settle on two, so here is my list. For Vocals, Piano and Strings:  Cat Stevens - Morning has Broken For Detail:  America - Sandman For Tempo:  Sting - Englishman in New York For Staging:  Madonna - Live to Tell The last one came as a big surprise to me one drunken evening.  Try this...

Repair of VU meters - need inspiration

Just had another thought - why not just use a sewing needle?  They come in a variety of sizes and shapes.

Repair of VU meters - need inspiration

Makro sells these cheap tyre pressure gauges similar to the one in the pic below....they have different types as well.  Not sure if they are metal or plastic.  Might work

Technics SL23 Stylus and Belt Required

Thanks alternativeroute.  I'll give them a shout. Yes, lubed the pots and it helped quite a bit - I suspect the remaining speed issues will be sorted with a new belt.

NAD C430 input selector / source switching problem: Advice?

The C340 uses a TC9273N Analog Switch Array IC for function select.  This is most likely where the problem lies - if you can get one from an electronics store and have some soldering skills, then it may be a quick fix.

Technics SL23 Stylus and Belt Required

Rotel rdv1060 needing laser i reckon?

I thought so too. Service was excellent as well. The build quality on this unit is great. Absolutely solid. While the video capability is outdated, the audio is pretty good imo. It does dvd-a as well. So it was worth 1k to me to have it fixed.

Rotel rdv1060 needing laser i reckon?

No worries 😀 For info, the prices to repair at the agents are a lot lower now - they replace the actual laser unit only instead of the entire drive.

Rotel rdv1060 needing laser i reckon?

Never mind - managed to sort this one out. Replaced the laser and its working perfectly. The sound quality on cd is actually pretty impressive on this unit.

Endless problems with my AV Receiver

OK, before taking it in, try unplugging all input sources to the receiver and use only the calibration tones and see if the problem goes away.  In other words, nothing connected to the amp except speakers.  Ive had an issue before where a faulty input cable from a DVD player was causing problems...
