I totally agree with you. To me it looks like he has payed for them already,might be wrong.

Maybe a option to fly up to Joburg rent a VW caddy or a single cab bakkie and do it yourself. They are almost 2m long,doubt you will find a lift for them. It might be a good idea to get a member to collect them and check them out before you go thru all the trouble to collect or ship.
