Sitting with a bunch of Boston & JBL speakers. (Ceiling and Wall mount).

My firm is relocating next week and I ended up rescuing 30 or so diff models of these speakers from the e-waste as nobody wants them, and our new office will use completely different audio. Being the techie type I couldn't bear to see them scrapped as they all were working till the guys pulled...

Sectional Title Locked Garage as Home Theater

As a long time chairman of a sectional title Body Corp ( and a home theatre enthusiast :)) I would have no issues with a request like this. Indeed I would probably be weighing in with unwanted advice ... A couple provisions would be not to change the garage facade ( you can always put up a...

    Samsung ES6600 or New F6400

Go for the newest one if you can afford it, as I am sure the E series will be discounted as it is an older model.  I didnt look too close at them, but doesnt the F series have a thinner Bezel around it ? Which to my eyes looked a lot better.  Under the Skin the F series will have tweaks that...

    eReader recommendation

i havent done any close studies on this, but my perception is often people buy iPads and stuff at great expense and then use them as ebook readers. The kindle is relatively inexpensive and does the job for ebooks.  But ... if you want to be able to surf the net and play music then look...

    Lenovo ThinkPad

We use the Lenovo T range.  I am on a T430 at the moment.  Very solid machine. We buy a couple thousand every year for our organization and we are pretty happy with them.  .... That said... when I bought a machine the other day for a relative, I bought him a Dell.

Buy a Kindle. They are easy to use and the battery lasts for weeks.  It basically does what it is supposed to do, allow you to read e-books with the minimum of fuss.

    Accident on M13 Field's Hill

Although there is quite a long descent coming down to the Marianhill toll the authorities have built an arrestor bed just before the Toll Plaza. So if a truck goes out of control coming down the drivercan just steer it into the Arrestor Bed.

Interesting thing was the JHB shops I visited. The guys werent fazed by my low end budget, took the time to show me their different models on the floor and chat about various options.  Sound and Image in Sandton springs to mind particularly.  Exactly as you say, I might not be able to afford...
