All councils have got it in their regulations that you need to get approval but nobody does. Ekurhuleni has it in there regulations, one of the ward councillors in our whatsapp group shared it last year but cant find it now.
I think Cape Town enforces it way more than Gautengeleng.
Since this thread was re-opened my little bit of advice on the speaker cable (in fact any cable for audio use) debate would be:
Instead of spending R50000 on 1 set of cables spend R50000 on 10 different sets of cables
That way you can really hear what various cables add or remove from a system...

Look at upgrading the AVR to something with pre-outs for the LCR then you can add an external power amp. Unfortunately your Yamaha only has pre-outs for the Subs.

With Dirco you can now arrange courier drop off and courier collection. We did it that way 2 months back.
