    B&W DM602 S1 - Speaker muffled sound

Will test and report back - thank you. I've had issues with my amp before (Marantz PM68) where the speaker that now has the dead tweeter would distort,  when I wiggled the " source direct " button a bit it worked fine. I'm guessing this distortion would have wonked the speaker. I have cleaned...

    B&W DM602 S1 - Speaker muffled sound

Thanks for the response. I'm not too scared to tinker, I've got the tools and often have dozens of electronics open at a time, but I haven't ever opened up a speaker. Would this test be possible without solder etc? UPDATE: The speaker only has 2 drivers, tweeter & mid. Probably can't swop those?

    B&W DM602 S1 - Speaker muffled sound

Hi guys, It's been a long time since I've visited the forums, mostly because my setup has been purring perfectly.  Unfortunately however it seems one of my B&W speakers ..... It's sounding muffled. The volume is a bit quieter than the other speaker, I guess because very little mids...

    Hi Res audio on Iphone6

Probably just the music player though. I use "FileExplorer" which is a paid app, and I can play FLACs from my Windows Server Share.  :groovy:

Wonder if they'll provide me with different pads, the stock HD535's just wont do.

    HD535 Replacement Padthingies

Hey okes! I've got sennheiser HD535's in need of some loving. Dad bought these before the year 2000 at least, they're old. He recalls paying R700 for them new. They still sound fantastic - as far as I can tell. Unfortunately the wear and tear have made them seriously uncomfortable. cushion's...

    DOLBY. DTS. THX Demos

Lol. Just to clear up possible confusion the picture shows the pegs on the B&W 683's vs. my DM602's.  :goofy:

    DOLBY. DTS. THX Demos

Is this possible on my old stereo Marantz PM-68? Obviously there is no sort of GUI, there's a nob saying "Bass" which I keep right in the center? I should however mention that my speakers' grills pegs aren't the tightest fit - this definitely won't happen to my dads 683's.

    DOLBY. DTS. THX Demos

Word of warning, listened to dolby_countdown_v2_lossless-DWEU had one of the speaker's grills off to watch, the other got jealous and pushed it's grill off when the bass dropped. Stands aren't too tall and everything survived okay was pretty bad ass.  :whistler:

    Cost effective streaming options

We've got a Mac Mini (using optical fiber) as our client and a home server streaming the content, does a real great job. Not sure that's 'cost effective' though. However I can say that we bought the Mac in 2011 and there has not yet been any reason to buy something else.

    Members' Kit pics

PM-68, 100W, giving me troubles though - I mentioned a while back the left channel's bass gets distorted. I've found now that it only happens if the amp has been playing for 6+ hours, probably heat then?

Here's my setup, this time actually mine and not dads.  Someone sponsor me a huge 27' monitor  or an iMac, an iMac will do. Still need some inspiration for a nice amp rack, this separate table isn't working.  :nfi: Zola's awesome stands!  :rubhands:
