I would stick with LG, Samsung or Sony. TCL may offer good value but often you get what you pay for. Not sure about their quality and also support here in SA

Try FB Marketplace. You often find well priced entry level receivers in good nick. Just watch out for scammers. Ask seller to go see receiver before you deposit any money to secure it. I would also recommend joining some of the AV and Hi-Fi groups on there to pick up their ads.

I would agree on the Optoma UHD30 considering your budget. Otherwise I would look for a 2nd hand UHD51 or UHD40 with low hours on the bulb. The latter two are excellent projectors for movies and sports if you are looking for something a little more higher end.
