Hi all I am looking to get my Rotel RSP 1098 repaired. It has served me well for over a decade, but today has decided that when I switch her on she just displays a solid white screen and thats it >:( So question is where do I take it in JHB for repair? Any advice?

Not sure if anyone has experienced this before, but I have some Rotel gear with the Silver (raw Aluminium) face plates. I have noticed that they have gone a touch yellow or brown, and not shiny silver anymore. Any advice on what to use to clean these without removing the painted on text?

Forgot to mention that this is not the ultra thin rip cord stuff you get at builders but rather its probably 1.5mm copper. Well I assume its copper core.

Bought some cheap speaker cable, the type with the clear plastic. One lead is silver and the other has a bit of a copper or pink look to it. Tried to solder it yesterday. Solder takes fine to the silver lead, but the pink one just turns black. Tried some flux and still no go. Any ideas?

Also what are the brands to watch out for. As you say this is not an investment but you would hope that at the very least you will not lose too much when you eventually sell the kit. I have seen some really old 1970's and 80's kit sell for good money on this forum too. Is it the brands that...
