As a note for anyone else with the same issue: the Epson software is designed for business presentations and not video streaming. So definitely not suitable for Netflix.
Using an Android TV box with the projector has fixed all the problems I was experiencing
I have an Epson projector that I've set up on my home network as an infrastructure point (DHCP IP address). The Epson software that I downloaded means that I can cast my Netflix movies to the projector from the laptop. I use a bluetooth connection from the laptop to a soundbar for audio.

I'm buying an Epson EH-TW650 soon and want to mount it on the ceiling. The room is high at the end where I want to project the image, but then slopes down at about 30 degrees from about 2m. So the projector mount needs to be strong and stable even at an angle.
A quick search picked up this...
@am: based in Craighall, Joburg.
@fdl: ran a reinstall of LMS and it's a happy camper! Have connected my Squeezbox Touch up and my four sample tracks play beautifully!
Now just to move the LMS cache off the memory stick, tag all my music and sftp on to the server ;D
Thanks for the info audiomuze, I'll leave mysql alone now :o I've tried to change the mountpoints back to what they were - how can I force squeezeboxserver to forget the old mount points?
I only have a few test tracks on the server atm, so I can delete stuff easily. I see cache.db, library.db...
Before fiddling with the cache location, have run:
sudo netstat -tap | grep mysql
to check on mysql. No output.
Tried to restart mysql:
sudo service mysql restart
mysql: unrecognized service
Then piped dmesg through grep mysql, and found nothing.
dmesg | grep -i mysql
OK, mountpoints are back to their original names (all lower case). Now I have an additional error after server startup and just before it crashes again:
Warning: Unable to read/create /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache/cache.db
Will look at moving the cache off the memory stick to the hdd again..
After more digging, common suggestions seem to be:
o Check that mysql is running ok - use dmesg
o Delete the LMS files in the cache and restart LMS
o Stop LMS manually and restart with increased logging information detail
o Check that the required Perl libraries are installed (sure I did this...
Hi all
My last Microserver was destroyed some months ago by a malicious lightning bolt in the middle of the night. I kept the USB stick, with Ubuntu 12.04 and LMS installed according to the guide in this section. I've moved the memory stick across to a new Microserver, together with the old...
The install to USB on my notebook failed because Grub insists on being on the hard drive.
I succeeded using Unetbootin on the Microserver in the end, but had to first manually correct file endings on the USB from .ude to .udeb following...
Thanks AS, will look at the NIC issue afterwards.
I set up my memory stick using the YUMI utility for M$ (you can boot to multiple different OS's), and then using unetbootin from Ubuntu.
Hi all
First, I have read the tutorial "Using your Microserver as a Squeezebox Music Server (Ubuntu)" - that is just what I want to do. I am hitting a problem that isn't mentioned there, and Google doesn't give me any help that I can use. I have installed desktop Linux a number of times, but...
