Something else to consider when buying a blu-ray player at the moment is whether ot not it will be 3D capable (which the PS3 is), as it seems 3D Television will be the next big thing in 2010 with all the big players seemingly commited to the tech.

Anyone have any experience with Acoustic Research speakers - specifically the AR900 set that is sold at Audiovision for R7999. Unfortunately I can't find a link for that set on the net anywhere. They will be used in conjunction with a Yamaha RX-V565 reciever.

No problems, but I've been researching this for quite a while and had actually settled on the 565 and was going get it today/tomorrow but only became aware of the upscaling today, and just wanted to double check that it was included. Thanks Stefan, will check it out.

LOL, or just spend it on cigarettes, go to the local bar, fill up your car, go to teazers and take the wife out to the local bar and see what your wife thinks of you afterwards. But really, does the 565 support upconversion as well as upscaling - I really want to buy this today or tomorrow.

Understanding a little more now, can someone tell me if the 565 supports upscaling and upconversion (yes, I now know they're different now  :) ) Less cables and resizing to your screen - that's probably worth paying an extra R700 over the 465 if it does? Uum, I take it they will be phasing out...

Eish... Well it seems I was misquoted (Audiovision) on the 565 - the quote was for R6660 minus 10% discount. Now they are quoting R7770. Just out of interest though, I found the following: RX-V663 going for R8000, and a Denon AVR 1708 for R5000
