    Surround Speakers

I use 4X  B&W VM1 as surround and surround back.  Audyssey measures the surrounds to be just under 2m from my seating position and around 1m from the surround back.  With crossover set at 80hz, I find these to be more than adequate.  it also helps that they can be wall mounted.  i honestly...

    QUAD QC 24 TUBE

Hi All I recently picked up a Quad QC 24 tube preamp from the forum.  The preamp makes a  sssshhhhh sound through the speakers.  You would have to lean into the speaker to hear this noise and does not interfere with the music, in fact, you cant hear it when music is playing but I just dont...

Speakers Similar to the Yamaha Soavo and MA RX8

in response then:  without hearing them side by side, ofcourse the RX8 will offer more in lower frequency and perhaps in all round room filling sound. the soavo was a more easier listen, no sharp treble, smoother with good midbass but would be more suitable to a smaller room. makes it a...

Speakers Similar to the Yamaha Soavo and MA RX8

Santosh, i may be wrong here, but i think that the Soavo 1 is also referred to as the NS-F901 - referring to the floorstanders.  soavo 2 would be the bookshelf.  not sure how these bookshelfs would compare to the MA floorstander but i was able to get a demo of soavo 2 yesterday and i thought...

What is your preferred/current STEREO Amplifier?

my best stereo amp thus far has to be the one I am currently using, Prima Luna Prologue one.  Easily the best amp I have owned.  Closely followed by Primare i20 intergrated, selling this amp remains one of my bigger audio regrets.

REPLACING BRIDGING PLATES WITH SPEAKER CABLE

Oh yes that was another point that kept coming up, as mentioned by Hi-Phibian.  I noticed that most people experimented with how they connected the speaker cable onto the speaker.  It appears most preferred the diagonal approach without mentioning specifics, as to whether red on top and black at...

REPLACING BRIDGING PLATES WITH SPEAKER CABLE

googling this topic reveals that more people have chosen to remove the supplied plates and gone with speaker cables.  Should you decide to take this route,  the recommendation is that one uses the same cable that you use from amp to speaker as your 'bridging cable'.

REPLACING BRIDGING PLATES WITH SPEAKER CABLE

Please pardon me if this topic has already been discussed here. I have heard from some about the different improvements one can make towards better sound.  While some have yielded some slight improvements some have remained gimmicks, to me. I was taken aback though to actually see/read a...
