Listening Level (dB and Room size)

I read/watched somewhere that you should aim for a level around what instruments sound like in person. Although, I can't see that happening with rock, classical, live recordings, etc. Smaller ensembles should be doable at similar levels, some of the time. Personally, I listen at average levels...

    FdlSys - Sad news

RIP Mike, I'm going to miss our conversations, I can still hear you saying, "Now that the honeymoon's over how does the equipment you recently acquired sound?" Thank you for openly sharing your wealth of knowledge, skills, and for getting me started in the vinyl world.

    Losing interest

One of my favorite things to do is to listen to music on Youtube and clicking on the suggestions that come up, I keep going down that rabbit hole and have found some absolute gems that I would've never really considered otherwise. It can help to bring a little more spice to your listening sessions.

    Disgusted with SA Post Office

Well, I ordered audio transformers from Europe and the company sent them via PO, it only took 14 months for them to call and say the package was ready for pickup. Of that 14 months, it sat for eight in customs.

    Alternatives to "incandescent" test lamps?

I use a halogen light bulb in mine. You could probably use a brooder light bulb, like those used for raising chickens, although they generate more heat than regular incandescent bulbs. Speciality light bulbs might be a way to source incandescent bulbs in the future.

Internet Radio Stations - Who else listens to them?

Try Jazzradio Schwarzenstein, pretty good selection of classic Jazz.

Albums recorded with Stereo Mic Pairs, ie naturally Stereo recorded

You are probably already aware of them but check out some of the albums by Pentatone Records, they're in a similar vein. If I remember correctly, there may be some recordings done with a single stereo mic. https://www.pentatonemusic.com/

    Enveloping Soundstage

Perhaps give members an idea of your partnering equipment, dimensions of the space, how your speakers are currently set up and what speaker placement techniques you have tried. I'm sure you will get lots of ideas on how to improve it from more knowledgeable members here.

    Natural Sounding Voices

If you are into Indian music try Music of the Honey Gatherers by Paban Das Baul. It's a very natural-sounding recording of folk music, even the musical instruments sound like traditional handmade ones. His voice comes across as very lifelike and it sounds like the musicians are actually sitting...
