Thank you for the input everyone, sounds like refurb is then the way to go, the cabinets are structurally ok it seems, just cosmetically not great.

I got a pair of these Tannoys which I'm looking to give a second lease on life. They really are the business, but my cabinets are quite shoddy.  I'm kicking around the thought to have cabinets built or to have the current ones refurbished. Can any members please advise which cabinet designs...

Good eye, it is the Q701's.  The soundstage is insane and I found them more involving than the Sennies HD595 and HD25's.  Alas, they are a bit unused as I prefer my loudspeakers at home and Shure IEM's for obvious reasons in the gym.

There are some seriously impressive set-ups on this thread.  This is what I have acquired on the forum over time: I still appreciate the Tannoy monitors, but the Paradigms are in a league of their own.  If anyone is wondering, no, the desk is never that tidy...
