Snob could probably mean one of two things. 1) A person that is all about image and that would actually look down on those that can not afford the same.
2) A person that prefers a certain brand and perhaps "look down" on other brands. But they would however not look down on those that own the "bad" brand.
I think we're talking about person #2 here. However, to be a snob one still needs to have money. There are areas that I would like to be a brand snob in, but right now I just can not afford it.
In my snob whish list, I'll be the odd one out here......
I like the fashion thing. I mostly where cheap Woolworth's jeans, but if I do dress up in long sleeve shirt and tie, I like it if the sleeves are the perfect length. My tie will be knot perfectly symmetrical, and the tip of the tie must be on my belt buckle. Pants must be the right length. I did pay R750 for a pair of shoes 7 years ago, and it still looks very new. And a tie with a short sleeve shirt is a big no no.
If I could afford, I like the looks of Hugo Boss casual wear. I do like Levis jeans. But in the end its not about the brand, but how the clothes fit. If a R20 shirt looks good and fits well, I'll wear it. Unfortunately most of the times the more expensive clothes does look better. Altough I own a lot of Woolies clothes, I mus say its mostly overpriced for what you get.
I don't like whisky. I used to be a coffee snob, but lately I'm equally happy with Ricoffy. I drink red wine on occasion, but am not a big fan. I can hardly taste the difference between one beer and another, and I don't like it.
My HiFi is my passion, and I don't like ugly equipment. I don't like many buttons and knobs. I like it simple.
