Love it, but the kids don't.

A few weeks ago we were passed by a very small buzzy two-stroke motorbike. My sons comment: Bob Dylan >:(

The rhythm section on "Everything is Broken" still stuns me, as does "Blind Willie Mctell"
My ears are fine, I tell you!

Yes, his voice is an acquired taste, but once you tune into it he changes it completely on each album to assume a new persona.

I am also a big Dylan fan, especially his earlier stuff (Freewheelin', Desire, Bringing it all back home, The times they are a-changin', Blonde on blond, etc.). His lyrics are really special and so much more meaninful than the s**t that passes for pop music today. However, as he got older, his voice just sounded more and more like someone who has razorblades for breakfast.

Listen to Time out of Mind / Love and Theft / Modern Times. Listening to these programs now is giving me goose flesh!

This is the first time I've ventured into this forum so excuse the late response.

I'm a huge Dylan fan and I was lucky enough to watch him and Van Morrison in concert in Paris on 30th June 1998. An almost surreal experience.
He ended off the show with a fantastic version of Times They Are a-Changin', changed it dramatically from the original.

I reall do have the t-shirt as well. Hmmmmmm good memories.

The song "Most of the Time" was issued on the critically acclaimed "Oh Mercy" album. Just a real pity however that 2x of the best songs imho from the recording sessions ("Series of Dreams" and "Dignity") were omitted from that album.

Great songs those! But Dylan always has many more songs than are needed from each session  ;)

Picked up 'Oh Mercy' on vinyl in the last two weeks... Lovely album. Great combo Mr Lanois and Dylan. Pity they fell out.

I also really like 'Modern Times', the tunes and the riffs are generic, but with a very unique Dylan twist that adds a definitive 'I've seen a lot' grit to the album...
