Musical Fidelity
« on: May 18, 2011, 01:22:15 pm »
The upgrade bug has bitten again! To make room for new equipment, I need to sell my Musical Fidelity A3.2 integrated amp and A3.2 CD Player. Both are highly rated and in mint condition (no marks, scratches, etc.) with original boxes, remote control and manuals. The integrated amp is rated at 115 wpc and the CD is a 24-bit upsampling unit. I am based in Grahamstown and prepared to courier anywhere in the country. I am looking for R12k onco for both units.

A quick search found the following reviews:

Hi

Just to clear up some potential confusion.

A reasonable, literal interpretation of "R12k onco for both units" would be that the price for both units (together) is R12k.

Is this what you meant?

Hi Nidri

That's exactly what I meant - R12k gets you both the amp and CD player. (They cost about R30k new).
If you want to pay R12k for each, you won't hear me complaining. ;D

Ps. Thanks for the advice and sales pitch Pappa3.

Thanks Gert, I used the software that came with the camera to reduce the size of the files. If I succeeded, the photos:

In that case, what a deal.

Given the tough economic circumstances, I would not be adverse to a request from a forum member to pay for this kit in instalments - say, R4k x 3 months or R3k x 4 months. However, preference must be given to anyone who is willing and able to pay the full amount in one instalment.

Just to elaborate: these units have seen very little action in the time that I have had them. They are set up in my 'man cave' and were only used on the odd weekend when I had time to listen to music. Finally, I would like to emphasise the fact that the price is negotiable. I am also willing to sell the amp and CD player seperately, although they sound really good in combination.

Price reduction: R10k.

This is as low as I am prepared to go for this combo.  If there are no takers at this price, I'll just have to keep them.

Great!  Now the big question (sorry if I missed it elsewhere) - What new stuff are you getting?

Thanks, PearlJam. I am staying with Musical Fidelity, but getting the A5 amp and CD player. I really like the sound of MF products and they are a great combination with my Paradigm Signature S2s. I can't wait to hear the Paradigms sing to the tune of 250wpc and a CD player with a valve output stage. I know it amounts to heresy for some, but I was never really a fan of valve-based kit. But having recently heard the warm, beguiling sound of a good valve amp, I am now willing to take the first tentative steps along the road to a 'valve sound'. So, even hardcore solid-state philistines like me are not beyond redemption.;D
