Watched Tron Legacy last night.  Weak storyline, but great sound and serious LFE --- my cat usually sleeps on the couch when I watch a movie - on this occasion it left the room after a while.  The SVS sub handled the LFE very well and there was more than one occasion where the couch I way lying on was rumbling something silly  ;D

Got me thinking about volume though, my AVR (Yammie RX-V730) is old and relatively low powered ~ 75W/channel.  I was watching at around 30% of max and going louder would've been uncomfortably loud.  So I'm guessing a big amp is only there to deal with transients that a smaller amp may have difficulty with?

Also, is the LOTR trilogy a worthwhile acquisition on Blu-Ray?

Tron Legacy is fantastic. I will buy it as soon as it drops a bit in price on Amazon.

I bought Saving Private Ryan as part of a batch of blu-rays from Amazon and must say it is also well done. The movie looks a lot more gritty compared to DVD. Also got "Almost Famous" which really show cases the audio improvement over compressed Dolby tracks. Fantastic if you love rock and roll music.

1. Avatar
2. The matrix reloaded
3. toy story 1.2.3

TRON Legacy has amazing sound but I'm not a fan of the story and acting.

Got to agree with you there. The movie all in all is a brilliant movie

I was a bit dissapointed with the storyline of Suckerpunch but the soundtrack is awesome. Bjork is still one of my favourites although a bit weird, but then again I am sure we all have a little weirdness in us...LOL
Under construction again...
