Paradigm Reference Signature S6 5.1 HT system is an award winner. The Sub1 is good for 1700W (continuous) and 3500W (peak).

I was not aware that there is a Sub2 and that it is more powerful than the Sub1. Who needs more that 3500W bass slam? Is the foundation of the average house strong enough to withstand this kind of low frequency output?

"SUB 2 plumbs the depths to 7 Hz with bloodcurdling output: 112 dB at 10 Hz, 126 dB at 60 Hz (in room). Connected to a 240-volt line, SUB 2 delivers 4,500 watts of continuous RMS Sustained power and a Frankenstein 9,000 watts of Dynamic Peak Power..."

I suppose audio is a game of extremes. With power outputsranging from only 2.5 watts from a SET valve amprilfier to a Krell Master Reference Amplifier, with a continuous 1000 Watts at 8ohms, 2000 Watts at 4ohms, 4000 Watts at 2ohms, 8000 Watts at 1ohm, and before the two separate 220V 15amp breakers popped during clip test close to 16000 watts at .5 ohms.  It was also a 300 kilogram monobloc that required 2 separate 220 v lines for best performance.
