No movies but series - Friends
B&W Blue Room Pods in Joey and Chandlers room
 Later Cerwin Vega's

Also, as expected, no Mark Levinson kit in Sex and the City (series or movie) :)
For the unknown - Kim Cattrall (Samantah Jones) was married to Mark Levinson as her 3rd marriage and got divorced in 2004.

...although I think the pair in Get Him to the Greek may in fact be a different pair as I think they were more modern, ...

Here's a peculiar thing: my wife noticed the speakers in one of the movies you mentioned, before I did. She said, "There's your speakers, Shaun". However, mine are much older than the ones shown and of a different style. Interesting how she made the connection; she does not pay attention to these things, usually.

There is a McIntosh system featured (in a pivotal role as those who have seen the movie will know) in "The Departed" which stars Jack Nicholson, Matt Damon, Leonardo di Caprio, Mark Wahlberg. According to the blog below, Nicholson is a McIntosh owner.

http://hifi.blogspot.com/2007/08/how-equipment-was-placed-in-departed.html

system in the movie comprises: MX119 Home Theater Preamp, MVP861 DVD Player, MA6500 Integrated Amp, C2200 Tube Preamp, MR85 Tuner, MHT200 Home Theater Receiver, MC207 Multi Channel Amp, MCD1000 CD Transport and five XLS320 Bookshelf speakers

Bah! Beat me to it :D

Actually they do remove identifying marks from cars if nothing's been negotiated. When you see products with their logos being proudly displayed, they usually appear for one of two reasons..

It appears as Volvo can afford most of the advertising, like Pioneer is to hi-fi

Does anyone watch "Lie to Me"? In one of the episodes in Season 2 they show Cal Lightman's house and he is playing music on a turntable with an acrylic platter that is lit up. Looked awesome. 8)

Jason Statham is known for negotiating product placement in his movies - normally for products he fancies. Hence almost always having Audis feature in his movies quite prominently.

I suspect the same goes for kit like cameras and hifi.

Also for his Panerai watches as well.

Nobody mentions the SOTA Sapphire turntable in the popular TV series HOUSE?

There were some nice looking speakers in Daniel Craig's apartment in the movie "The Layer Cake". Does anybody know what speakers those were?

does anyone know what cd player was in the Movie Wall Street? Being shot in 86 cd would of been considered as high tech as Reagans star wars program. The cd player looked big.

Hank Moody in Californication also has a nice stereo setup in his apartment. Anyone identify any of the components there?

Gee!!

You guys are incorrigible! Like the definition I read of a psychologist: Someone who goes to see the Folies Bergére ... and watches the spectators.

Just shows: Any form of advertising works!
