A change is as good as a holiday. I am looking to put together a system with a Lyngdorf or TacT amp and source and Wilsons (don't ask why, I just do), so the following is for sale:
Shanling CDT100 - mint condition - R10k. Not sure what the new price is - guessing around R20k in SA, or R14k if bought overseas. One of the best digital sources I have ever heard - at any price. Has an uncannily smooth sound, with a gigantic soundstage.
Musical Fidelity F25 preamp and F19 power amp. A real mother of a combo. Balanced ins/outs. 300 WPC in high power (AB) mode, also runs pure class A. The power amp is brilliant, up there with the best, I have heard better preamps. To replace this combo new would cost hundreds of thousands. I am looking for R25k-ish. Complete with Logitech learning remote.
Dynaudio Contour 2.8 MkII. These are very special loudspeakers, the use The Esotar D260 tweeters, 7-inch Esotar midbass, and passive radiators. Very close in sound to the Confidence 5, but easier to drive (still need decent power, though). Probably one of my favourite loudspeakers of all time (and I've owned a few). Immaculate, R14k
Take it as a system and I will throw in cables (Van den Hul the wind and D102 MkIII hybrid), and reduce price to R45k - and you have a system that is unbeatable at 10 times the price.
The main reason for the change is my room - it is big, very big, and after a few changes I have come to the conclusion that I need bigger speakers. the electronics sit in a closed cabinet, and teh MF and Shanling get too hot.
