Was just wondering does anyone know if you can buy Liquid Nitrogen in SA?

I used to be able to get it from Afrox down the road, but now they are pretty uptight about it. The last time I went to get some, they refused to fill up my coffee thermos. Apparently you get special containers for the purpose (read: expensive) and they will refill those for you.

If I may ask: what the hell do you guys want to do with liquid nitrogen? As far as I know, it is very scary s**t. ;)

You use it to say cool a computer every now and then  ;D

if you go to carbonite.co.za and ask the questions there they will tell you where to get.

Termite and ice is very scary s**t

Was just wondering.  Sometimes spot cooling can be handy.

:D freeze dried.

1 tablespoon olive-oil in non stick frying pan. Stright from the freezer onto a hot plate. Add salt and pepper to taste. Voila. Super 12 Super 14 Super 15 snacks

You rent the container (big one) from afrox per day but you may need to be an account holder to get that.
They may insist on delivery as well. New rules, may be more to do with hazardous cargo laws then breaking gear locks.

That's pretty dangerous. With a homemade potato cannon using hydraulic steel pipes, a sparkplug, a taser (connected to the spark plug to get it to ignite) and a tank of 100% copressed oxygen I put a potato spud thru a shipping container :-) That's when I realised I was mental and people were going to get hurt so I emptied the oxygen tank (slowly in an empty park I might add).

Now the real question is what liquid chemicals did the mythbusters mix to ignite their thermite? (You need a really really hot flame to ignite it, something like burning magnesium)
